The medical department runs a Central Hospital at the Head Quarter of this zonal railway which was declared open by Sri Shah Nawaz Khan, Honourable Deputy Minister for Railways on the 16th April of Nineteen hundred and sixtythree. The hospital is a premier 303 bedded multidisciplinary, multispeciality tertiary care centre situated on the bank of river Hooghly.
